3d wedding card

I found this template in the free section at http://www.ukscrappers.co.uk/boards/forumdisplay.php?f=200 I had seen pictures of it posted here and there so when i found the file listed by Tina Fitch as a free one i grabbed it and ran!!

I love the challenge of 3d projects which quite surprised me as I have always been 'just' a card maker..
and although I have no weddings or anniversaries coming up in the next month or 2 i decided to make this to see how difficult it would be to make....

I cut it using 2 different weight cards...the pink card is 210gsm as i wanted a sturdy base and the bride and groom have to stand tall...the cream card i needed to be very flexible to be able to curve and so i used a lighter weight 120gsm ..

The box at the bottom gave me the most trouble as the lid didnt want to fit and so had a little cajolling and it fitted to a fashion...the rest was so easy that it wasnt a challenge at all...

The biggest challenge to this design was what to do with it now ive made it? at the moment it is on the shelf with my other bits and bobs. I like this template and now know should i ever need a wedding card this is very easy to do but looks stunning!! Now to make a box for it!!

Baby card no 3

My daughter in law is having her baby shower this week..finally!! and my daughter asked me to make a card that she could give...as I have done 2 cards already for baby Lucy I needed to make something different to the ones that i had already done..afterall it would be a little wrong for the nanny to make 2 cards the same for her. I went to my files on the pc to look and gain inspiration...

Firstly i found a file for a plate and stand that i had downloaded in April but alas i cant remember where from, though i have a mind that it was from the silhouette plus forum but dont quote me on that...if not then it was from ukscrappers but as i said i cant remember..so if you know please leave a comment and tell us all thank you xx

I liked the file and thought i could do something with it for a baby card and looked through my digi stamps and found this file of a cute teddy holding balloons. I obtained yhis digi stamp from a blog train from Rl freebies thats all the information i have on this freebie...
I uploaded it into my sil software and made it into a print and cut file to fit the inner circle of the plate.
I also did a print and cut on some cute roses and resized into 3 different sizes but i only used one size on this card so i have some ready for another project but at least it used up the white card i was cutting!!

I thought it needed something else to give it a spark so i looked through my peel offs and found a baby page and loved these safety pins..

Cuckoo clock

I found this clock on the internet nd thought it was cute and meant to do it for a frame but alas i forgot to reverse the design before cutting to place inside the frame as i  really dont like the vinyl on the outside of a frame cause that makes it hard to keep clean but inside or out is personal choice...

As i didnt realise i had made this mistake until after i had cut the image i am going to remind you all the saying waste not want not and so it became a wall art instead of a frame and is now in my hallway...

I liked the flourish of this clock and the little flowers that were incorporated into the design. I also like the clockface as it was easy on the eye...I think if i had done this with the intension of putting it on the wall then i would have maybe changed the time to the hour i had got married so that  way it would have meant something wonderful to me and hubby...its a thought....

This design was very easy to weed and all but the no.6 went on smoothly but a pokey tool and some swearing got the 6 on at roughly its right spot...I got the image from here http://silhouettecameofanatic.blogspot.co.uk/

Lion

I did some more vinyl work yesterday...I found this Lion on a website where the person was giving away some nice svgs and ss files here is the site ....http://silhouettecameofanatic.blogspot.co.uk
The lion came as an svg file that i was able to load into my sil and trace myself and i think it came out well...

I did it in a frame that I bought at pound land. As it is going to my dad for fathersday I wanted the vinyl inside the frame as my mum always has a duster in her hand!! So i got the image to how i wanted it to look and then before cutting i reversed the image so that it sat inside the glass and looked the way i wanted...

The weeding was quite time consuming as there was some very thin bits and fiddly bits and i thought i had it done and was quite happy to put my transfer paper on it when i realised I hadnt taken the middle from the eyes and nearly ruined the image at the last hurdle....

I cut the image in brown vinyl and put it onto a white background to make it pop out at you

fathers day card take 2

So having made the previous card i then thought knowing my children one of them would forget to buy their dad a card and at the last minute ask me to help so..being a mum i have got myself prepared.....
Some of you may recognise the card as athe free shape of the week from early june in the sil store. I changed a few words and hey presto a fathers day card!! I got out my trusty sakura gel pens and did the writting in a blue..though with the lime green card it does look as though i used green ink but thats ok!
I have lots of cuts from previous projects that are waiting to be used and i liked the tree for this card i cant remember where it came from but i think it was the sil store...to pretty it up i used flower soft on the branches in purples pinks and lavender...

The flowers were from t he sil store and i cut them in the same card combo as my base card and topper..i added a brad to the flowers. A quick easy card but the colours i chose make it suitable for a man

Fathers day cards

So next sunday is fathers day and so i have been busy making cards for the men in my life!!
Firstly here is the card i made for my own dad......

Tina has a cd with all scalloped letters and numbers and i liked what you could do with them but i couldnt afford the cd so i made my own scalloped letter d .. looking around at some tutorials on the web and youtube i realised the scallop would be best made out of the letter U so i got one from arial type and resized it to the size i needed then i replicated some and placed them around the d continuing to replicate and place until i was satisfied that i would be happy...i then grouped and welded and voila i came up with my scalloped d not the best but i was happy with it...

I used arial to write the words and i welded them together...to get the layers was a simple case of using the offset and then using it again and again until i had enough layers to satisfy me...I did the same with the heart which came from the sil library...
to finish the card i stuck on some bling....

New baby card

I made this card ready for my grand daughter who is due in september!! I did it now because i was given this file and wanted to play...

Although it looks very intricate it cuts beautifully with my silhouette sd and the layers and scrolls are easy peasy! It can be difficult to glue intricate cuts like this and you would need a glue that will dry clear and wont tarnish with time. I use my xyron machine to stick intricates like this and it helps..

The file was made up by a lady named Wendy that is on a group in Fb and she gave this one away for use...I think it is so pretty and that she did a great job..although i dont advocate fb there are a few good groups for the cameo and sds now and if you are on fb and havent looked then go to Tina Fitchs page and look she has some awesome files....You can download this file here http://wendyscraftingtimes.blogspot.co.uk/ if you download then remember to send her some love...

Well i finally finished my nappy cake..but alas it has now gone to the recipients and hubby took the photos for me as my camera wasnt working and he didnt trust me with his and yuck he didnt take good photos of the cake...i am so disappointed with them but i have one or two that i can show though they arent good....

I was sooo disappointed with the photos and hubby isnt happy now ive finished telling him how rubbish a photographer he is...i gave him 1 job lol...any how enough said...the couple were very pleased with the nappy cake and it was oooohh and aaahhhed at so even though the pictures dont do it justice it was still a good project and lots of fun the biggest problem i had was first deciding what i was going to put on it and then it was to decide what to take off as when you start making prams cots and toys there are so many of them out there that you just cant stop...
